Why we use your information
Enquiries and business communications
We use information you provide to respond to enquiries, discuss potential work, manage commercial or research relationships and keep appropriate records of communications.
Our lawful basis is normally our legitimate interests in operating and developing our business, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract where your enquiry relates to a proposed engagement.
Quarterly Updates
We use your email address to send the Quarterly Updates that you have requested. Our lawful basis is consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe or preference link in an update.
Website operation, analytics and security
We process limited technical information to operate the website, prevent abuse, validate form submissions, diagnose faults and maintain the security and reliability of our systems. Our lawful basis for this operational processing is normally our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable website.
We also use Google Analytics through Cloudflare Zaraz to understand aggregate website usage and performance. Google Analytics is assigned to an optional consent purpose and is not run by Zaraz until you consent to Google Analytics. We rely on consent for this analytics processing. Google Consent Mode v2 is configured with a default denied state.
Embedded research videos
Selected pages use YouTube to present research and technical video content. We use
YouTube's Privacy Enhanced Mode through the youtube-nocookie.com domain.
Our purpose is to make relevant technical material available to visitors, and our
lawful basis for the personal-data processing for which Chatwood Labs is responsible
is our legitimate interests in communicating our research and
engineering work.
Legal and regulatory purposes
Where necessary, we may process information to comply with legal obligations, establish or defend legal rights, maintain required business records or respond to lawful requests from regulators or public authorities.

- Cloudflare for website delivery, security, request processing and Cloudflare Turnstile anti-abuse checks.
- Resend for delivery of website enquiry emails and management and delivery of Quarterly Updates, including subscription preferences.
- Google Analytics for measurement of website usage and performance after you have consented to Google Analytics. Analytics is configured through Cloudflare Zaraz.
- YouTube (Google) for embedded research and technical videos on selected pages. We use YouTube's Privacy Enhanced Mode.
- Business email, hosting, IT and communications providers used to operate Chatwood Labs.
- Professional advisers, regulators, public authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect our legal rights.

You can contact us if you would like further information about the safeguards used for a particular transfer.
How long we keep information
- Enquiries: normally for up to 24 months after the last substantive contact, unless the information becomes part of a continuing commercial, research or legal record.
- Commercial records: where an enquiry develops into a contractual relationship, relevant records may be kept for up to six years after the relationship ends where reasonably required for contractual, accounting or legal purposes.
- Quarterly Updates: while you remain subscribed. We may retain a limited suppression or preference record after you unsubscribe where necessary to respect your opt-out and demonstrate compliance.

Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
Consent preferences
Cloudflare Zaraz provides the consent controls used on this website. Zaraz stores
your consent preferences in a first-party cookie named zaraz-consent
so that your choices can be remembered. This cookie is used for consent management
rather than analytics or advertising.
You can review or change your choice at any time by selecting Cookie Settings in the site footer.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is optional. It is configured through Cloudflare Zaraz and assigned to the Google Analytics consent purpose. Zaraz does not run Google Analytics until you have positively consented to that purpose. If you reject Google Analytics, the analytics tool remains disabled for that consent state.
If you consent, Google Analytics may use first-party cookies or similar technologies to measure website usage and performance. We do not use Google Analytics on this website for advertising or remarketing.
Cloudflare and Turnstile
Cloudflare and Cloudflare Turnstile may use cookies, browser storage or similar technologies where necessary to deliver, secure and protect the website and to distinguish legitimate users from automated traffic. Technologies that are strictly necessary for security, service delivery or remembering your consent choice may be used without separate analytics consent where the applicable legal exemption permits.
Embedded YouTube videos
Selected pages contain videos from the Chatwood Labs YouTube channel. These are
embedded using YouTube's Privacy Enhanced Mode through
youtube-nocookie.com. This mode limits the use of embedded-video views
for personalisation compared with the standard YouTube embed.
Loading or playing an embedded video connects your browser to YouTube or Google and may involve processing technical information such as your IP address and browser details. If you choose to play embedded content, YouTube may also use cookies or similar storage and access technologies to provide the requested video functionality. Google controls those technologies under its own privacy terms.
Automated decision-making
We do not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. Automated security checks, such as Turnstile, may determine whether a form submission is accepted as legitimate traffic.
Providing information
You are not under a statutory obligation to provide personal information through this website. However, we need the required contact-form fields to respond to an enquiry, and we need an email address to provide Quarterly Updates.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how we use your personal information, please contact us first so that we can investigate.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
